Another Silly Hat and Kitten Mittens

I made my little guy another hat, plus a matching pair of mittens:)

Best face ever:)

It's suppose to look like a kitty cat hat, but I suppose I should have purchased a pattern instead of just winging it... Oh well, still cute, and following a pattern just isn't as much fun:)

Some of My Older Jewelry Pieces

Here is some of my sterling silver and fine silver cast jewelry. Most of these pieces were designed using Adobe Illustrator, and the vectors were translated in a 3D editing program (ArtCam) and sent to a CNC milling machine. The wax models were then cleaned up by hand, and then they were cast using the lost wax method. A couple of the above designs were made by hand, using sculpture wax.

Sterling Silver and Titanium Cameo Choker-Style Necklace

I've been working on this piece for the last couple of weeks, in between working on other projects. I hand made each of the tiny silver rings. I have quite a bit left to finish on this neck piece, but I figured some in-progress photos would be nice. So far, materials include; sterling silver and fine silver wire, sterling silver cameo and findings, thin titanium wire, mother of pearl beads, hematite beads, and glass beads. I'm considering fabricating some tiny sterling gears to accent this piece.

DIY Lip-Service Shirt

I had this white pinstripe shirt from Lip-Service, but after I lost weight, it sorta bulged in the center where my waist is, making it look a little funny. Plus, I've never been that fond of white clothing, so I dyed it black, which really brought out the stripes in the fabric, since they were made of more synthetic fibers and didn't absorb the dye as well. The main fabric and the trim absorbed differently too, leaving the shirt a deep purple/black with darker black trim. I added rivet trim to the back of the shirt as an easy sizing fix.

When tied extra tight, the shirt makes a cute open-style over-shirt for tank tops.

Reversible Corset-Style Petal Gloves

Last year, I designed a series of simple little "Petal" gloves. They were all entirely hand-sewn. They were also reversible and fully adjustable to fit a wide range of wrist sizes. They sold quite well. This year, I will be producing another line of these gloves, which will be partially machine-sewn, leaving more time for elaborate embellishments. I'm also working on a more complex glove pattern to complement the faux-fur boot covers ("fluffies") that I'm working on. My "Trumpet Gloves", along with a new line of "Petal Gloves" and the boot covers, should be available Winter 2013 - Spring 2014.

I made two pairs of these Hello Kitty Gloves. I still have one pair available for sale. Please contact me if interested.

DIY Tripp Bondage Skirt

I had a pair of Tripp pants that were oh so darling, but they were a bit too short for me. Since I prefer skirts anyway, I snipped the pants just above the crotch area, and took the zippers from the legs, along with fabric from the leg area and added it to the bottom of the skirt. This took forever to make because I didn't own a sewing machine at the time, so I had to do all the sewing by hand. I added vinyl rivet tape for added durability. The zippers along the bottom are functional, opening to a very large pocket area. The skirt is very heavy, making it my favorite skirt for taking walks, since no amount of wind will make it blow up.

DIY Bondage Jacket

A few years ago, I customized this little black jacket from Forever 21, which I managed to score from a second-hand store for about $2. (I believe it is a Junior's Size Large.) I used materials from an old pair of Tripp Pants and a pair of laces from an old pair of Demonia Boots, which accented the color of the faded jacket, which I had pre-dyed with a violet/black cold dye. I added additional metal D-Rings and repaired the metal snaps that were on the shoulder pocket.

Like almost clothing that I buy, this jacket just didn't fit right. I have a problem finding clothes that fit well due to my long legs, long arms, wide hips, small chest/large bust, and a super high waist. So, I tend to try and find clothing that is a large enough to accommodate my largest measurements, and just take the garment in at points on my figure that are smaller in scale. For me, some corset-style lacing works quite well.

The arms were a bit more tricky. I prefer super long sleeves, but I usually end up finding tops that make me look like an adult trying to fit into a child's jacket. I ended up taking fabric, zippers, pockets, and rivet tape from the Tripp Pants, and sewed it to the forearm and wrist area of the arms, which helped to add a bit of length. I constructed it so that the pockets are now functional. (I'm not sure what to store in them.)

Here is the front, which I've left pretty plain. Underneath the jacket, I am wearing a steel boned corset (brand: Empire Intimates), and the tulle lined zipper skirt is from Target. The hair dye that I used, which is quite faded in these photos, is Blue Black (Garnier 100% Color), with Fuchsia Shock (Manic Panic).

Here are a couple of better pictures of my hair, when I first dyed it that color, under different lighting.

And here are a couple photographs of my pretty blue corset. I absolutely love this brand. Comfortable, affordable, and made quite nicely, considering the price.
